Take one teabag of a strongly-flavored herbal tea (I prefer Wild Berry Zinger).
Put teabag in a large mug, fill three-quarters of the way with water, and microwave for two minutes.
Let sit for one minute.
Remove teabag, and stir in:
honey
lemon juice
1-2 eyedroppers of liquid echinacea
Both the heat of the tea and the lemon juice will help to break up your congestion. The echinacea will help your immune system. The honey will help soothe your sore throat. And the flavor of the tea and the honey will help to disguise the taste of the echinacea (which is not very pleasant).
Have a mug. Repeat as necessary.

Wait. What?
Fill three quarters of the way with vodka?
No wonder you feel better!

On the one hand, I’d like to say what a ridiculous idea this is. On the other hand, while I’ve been avoiding alcohol for the last several days (I think that red wine with dinner would make my already cloudy head feel worse), there’s something about the idea of warm alcohol that I think would perk me up. Or maybe my Polish roots just respond well to the idea of vodka at any temperature.
On a related note, I’ve been thinking that a Hot Toddy would make me feel better, and I’ve never even had one before. Let’s see what’s in it …

Oh my God. It’s just like my tea recipe, minus the echinacea and plus one ounce of brandy, whiskey, or rum! That would TOTALLY make me feel better! Ooh, and look! They have a GIN Toddy, too! You know, once my soul-crushing sinus headache goes away, I could totally go for one of those!
