Hoo-Boy. Why do I have a feeling that we’re going to have many more book challenges and bans in the future? The writer of that article and about 80% of the commenters so far seem to be pretty much in agreement that modern young adult novels suck, and we should all be giving our teenagers copies of My Side of the Mountain and novels by Robert Heinlein. Ah, but have you not heard? You don’t need actual librarians to run libraries.
As for the WSJ editorial/hatchet job, Salon ran an excellent piece effectively refuting it.
